Meet the Owner

Bold Roots Plant Co. is rooted in plants, but it’s shaped by people — and it starts with me.

I’m Courtney, the founder behind Bold Roots. My relationship with plants didn’t come from formal training or a lifelong green thumb. It came from curiosity, trial and error, and a growing appreciation for what happens when you slow down and pay attention.

Like many plant owners, I started small. A few plants turned into a few more. Some thrived, some didn’t, and all of them taught me something. Over time, what felt like a quiet hobby became something more intentional — not just about collecting plants, but about understanding how they live in our spaces and how they make us feel.

Alongside that journey, I’ve spent my career in business and people-focused work, which shaped how I think about structure, experience, and sustainability. Bold Roots is where those two worlds meet: the creativity and calm of plants, paired with thoughtful design and practical problem-solving.

I believe plants shouldn’t feel intimidating or exclusive. You don’t need a perfect space, endless time, or a green thumb to enjoy them. You just need the right plant, a bit of guidance, and the confidence to start. That belief shows up in everything Bold Roots does — from pop-up shops and plant selections to workshops and care support.

Right now, Bold Roots is growing through local markets and pop-ups, where conversations happen naturally and community takes root. Over time, it will continue to expand into hands-on workshops, curated plant styling, and plant care offerings — always with the same goal of bringing people closer to plants in a way that feels accessible and rewarding.

This space — the blog, the shop, the stand at a market — is an invitation. To learn, to ask questions, to try again if something doesn’t work the first time. Plants are patient. Growth takes time. And that’s kind of the point.

Thanks for being here and growing along with us.

Your partner for all things plants,
